Floral Abundance

It's very heart warming to see all the flowers in full bloom at the moment....so I decided to give blogger another go....(posting isn't worth it if they don't appear anywhere else)...so here goes!

This little bush I call 'Little May'

Couldn't resist taking a pic of this cheeky fellow.

I believe he is a New Holland Honey-eater.

This Leucadendron is interesting that it comes out quite a vibrant orange, then changes colour to a much darker red.

'Iceberg' rose.

'Double Delight'.

'Buff Beauty' reaching for the sky.

Free motion quilting on TTS quilt.

Had to leave the quilt hanging....you know for the important kid stuff, like watching master 14 tie a fishing knot!!

This was the aaahhhh moment....all finished!! A fantastic stitch-a-long!

And lastly some gifts for netball coaches....coasters & lollies!

Gallery in Red

After enjoying a few days of warmer weather today it's returned to being cooler and windy, making it tricky to take pics outside. I did manage to get these couple before my table topper blew away. I'm supposed to be sewing other things, but being a 'gypsy sewer' I tend to craft whatever takes my interest at the time. I loved this fabric panel (Gallery in Red) as soon as I saw it & had this in mind before I left the store.....so I did 'strike whilst the iron is hot' and got busy.....I think a set of coasters may be in order, then it'll all be ready for Christmas!

Black & White Night

The major fundraiser for our School Association this year was a 'Black & White Night'.  The black with white spot skirt was made for this occasion and the other...well it's just nice to have a new skirt to wear just in case!!  The scarf I finished this weekend.

Both of these patterns were great to make up.

One of my purchases from the function.....a lovely button necklace created by my sister.

This was my donation to the silent auction.....'Santa's got the goods table topper'
It was a great evening!

Playing

Whilst participating in an on-line stocking swap recently, I had a few ideas to create my own.

This is the result.

A simple stocking with a touch of lace & crochet.

The blossoms are starting to burst on my 'Flowering Apple'.....a great craft hanger upper she is!!

I was very excited to receive my copy of Tone Finnanger's new book, 'Tilda's Studio' yesterday afternoon. 

Lots of gorgeous projects....which one to start first?

Having the materials on hand....I decided the mobile phone case was the go.

Creative Endeavours

It has been really cold here in Tassie this past week, and all I really feel like of a night time is curling up in my chair with some crochet......but organizing tasks into halves has helped me to achieve a couple of finishes.

This weekend saw me catch up on some on-line group stitching. May blocks are now complete for TIS SAL & block 6 completed for our FIS.

Our challenge today was to find orange & blue together.  This picture,  taken last year of my Leucospermum with  blue sky background.
