Colourful Friday - Christmas

Red is a dominant favourite colour of mine and it shines through at Christmas!

The Tilda hearts I made last Christmas, while the teddies are dusted off to be displayed every year.

I think these fellows are singing 'I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas'............

Merry Christmas all and a big thank you to Robyn for hosting Colourful Fridays....it's been a rainbow of a journey!
Cheers....Jane.

Colourful Friday - Teal

Gosh this has been a blue/green adventure.....this is a box lid.

A piece of fabric that seems to be telling me it's bag material....

and I should have posted the other pics of the crocheted square...they all looked a different shade of blue!!
For some more teal visit Robyn @ Daisy Quilts.

Colourful Friday - Silver

A few sewing notions & a charm bracelet.

A bit of snapping in Miss J's room.

This book mark also belongs to Miss J.

I think this one is my favourite....it used to be a pot-pourri jar....now it's home to some shells. For some more Friday colour visit Bev @ Kainga.
Happy Colourful Friday....Jane.

Weekend Sewing

On the weekend I did a little bit more sewing to add to my 'Market Day' box.

Hard to tell in pic but the coasters are bigger than normal.

Now inside as it's raining on & off today....a couple of table runners.

It's always a bit hit & miss sewing for markets, but I figure if I sew what I like I can use it if I don't sell it!
Sweet stitching all...Jane.

Colourful Friday - Brown

We have quite a bit of brown zipping about our place at times....meet Dusty, our Cocker/Springer Spaniel cross.

A little bit of brown in a scarf & some in a tassel.

This little phone pouch I whipped up this morning and you can find the tutorial here.

The spotty cat was a gift from Santa when I was little.
For some more pics pop over to Bev's.
Happy Colourful Friday!!

Colourful Friday

I've decided today that I would join in on Robyn's Colourful Fridays. The above is a bridesmaids dress I made and wore when my sister was married.

The crochet blanket in this lot of pics is my first effort at crochet some years ago!

A few of hubby's conduit and cables.

The flower in the centre of the pic is s a variety of Leucospermum...relative of the South African Protea. It does well here on the coast, surviving summers without water and attracts not only birds & bees!!
For some more colour visit Robyn.
Have a great weekend all......Jane.

Pillow Slips & Cake

I've been doing a bit of home decor sewing lately, making curtains for our bedroom last week and yesterday I thought I'd make some pillow slips, as mine are a getting a bit tatty.

Might have to whip up some more of these.

If you need to bake but you really don't feel like it, this is the cake for you! It a Green's English Tea Cake....yes a packet cake but if you tried it you wouldn't know the difference. I made the variation, Apple Cinnamon Tea Cake...Yummy!!

A Walk On The Dark Side

I stepped out of my comfort zone making these EBCC gifts. Normally I prefer the pastel shades but, being a practical type of person, I though dark fabrics would suit these little bags.

Jelly roll strips make them quick to put together.

Using some leftover scraps I cut out a couple of key tags....Miss J tells me the ribbon is too wide (used what I had) and hubby said he didn't like the black edge....guess you can't please everyone!!
Happy Grand Final Day...Jane.

This is what I intend to keep in my new 'lunch box'.....

Not much sewing done on the weekend.....but I found these pastels which had to some home with me.....I had no choice really!!

Pincushion & Pouch

After having a really nice day yesterday, Spring has returned today bringing sunshine, wind and rain. sometimes all at once!! Though it was a perfect opportunity to finish Pattie Pincushion.

Mr Bunny was created a couple of years ago...the Ipod Pouch I put together on the weekend. Miss J is pleased to have something to cart her Ipod in.
