EBCC - September Challenge

Our challenge this month was to create something using nature as our inspiration.

My inspiration is 'Spring'. Yellow for the Daffodils and Freesias, my Camellia which hasn't flowered for ages is pink and green for all the new leaves appearing on our fruit trees!!

A little bit of  lace and a spot of quilting......

 and the table runner is finished! (Will try and get a better pic as the weather improves).

The Art of Crochet

Yesterday I purchased my first copy of 'The Art of Crochet'. I found it an excellent resource & it would be great for a beginner with concise & easy to follow instructions.

I couldn't wait to start & completed my first block of the vintage style rug. Is anyone else out there going to do the rug?

I've been bitten by the crochet bug recently & have started this chevron stitch rug. It's nice to have something on the go that doesn't require any prior setting up.

EBCC Challenge

Judith's challenge this month was to create a keepsake including at least one heart.

I've been going to make a doily incorporating some machine embroidery with crocheted edging & thought this was the perfect opportunity to do it.

I enjoyed doing this little doily & think I'll have to make some more!

Vintage Sewing Cushion

This Vintage Sewing Cushion has been on the 'to do list' for awhile now.....loved working with the Fresh Cottons range by Moda.

A crocheted doily and a vintage button and all is complete.

Think mine turned out more fresh country than vintage.....but anyway, being scented with oil makes everything smell nice.
