A Surprise & A Purse

Whilst packing to go away the other weekend, a knock at the door revealed my sister with this parcel. A total surprise...I was so exited...an early birthday present...Yipee!!
I was soooo lucky to receive these items....two of which travelled with me...the puffy pouch is just the thing for lippies & make-up bits...the other wallet already packed with those bits & pieces you may need & can be easily changed from your day bag to your evening bag...very handy.........thankyou so much Lisa.....they're gorgeous & I love them.
This was a fun project to make....loved doing the crazy patchwork & now I'm just waiting for the spring strip to arrive.
Enjoy your weekend.

Heritage Quilt Block

I was a bit out of my comfort zone working on nature for the "Heritage Quilt' block. It isn't clear in the pic, but I appliqued the swan in satin stitch & did some stipple quilting to represent water. I'm looking forward to seeing the quilt together!
Hope your all having a fun week......Jane.

Butterfly Bag Tag

Wait, wait, I'm not too late!!!!!!.........................
At the recent Gathering Helen challenged us to create something out of a fat 16th of fabric by Easter Tuesday!! I decided to make a bag tag to put on my case to make it easier to spot in the luggage collection area on the weekend. This butterfly is an in-built design on my embroidery machine and I added some crochet around the edge to pretty it up.
The white homespun is the extra fabric, the spot below was my issue.

Gail, Lisa, Fiona & Jo have also made items for the challenge & are all well worth a visit.

Happy holidays.....Jane.

Punchneedle

I was chatting with Peg via email & said that I would post some punchneedle. The following are some stitcheries that I did a little while ago. Punchneedles are such a versatile tool as you can use them to fill an entire design, for reverse straight stich, ribbon embroidery and a whole lot more. You'll find that your work progressing quickly with this tool. The stitchery below is a favourite from Christine Books' pre printed collection. Changing the length of the needle creates longer/shorter loops, handy for flower petals.
The couple are done with the reverse straight stitch.

This one I did using ribbon & the large needle.
Numbered List
Hope you all have an enjoyable weekend......I'm off now to pack up for the 'Autumn Gathering'.
Only one more sleep...............can't wait!!!

"Sweet Nothings"

The stitcheries for this wallhanging by Sally Giblin I've had done for a while now & I thought it was about time I got it completed. I probably would have had it finished it a week ago, but I decided I would crochet around the pockets & the outside of the wallhanging.
The crochet part of it I really enjoyed, although it wasn't part of the original design but sometimes it nice to go off & have fun with it.

The hooks on the hanger and pockets will be handy for Miss J to store her bits & pieces.
So there you go sister, blog post done.......LOL.
Hope you all have a happy & creative weekend.

Easy Bag

I had the fabric & handles, so I got busy on Sunday afternoon to make Leanne Beasley's 'the easiest bag you'll every make', out of her book Romancing the road trip.....I thought Natalie Lymer's zipper pouch would go with the bag nicely & as I had enough fabric left over I thought I'd give that a go also.
Hope you're all having a good week.
Jane.
