Bottlebrush

I was out in the garden yesterday, when I noticed this Bottlebrush was flowering for the first time....it's a lovely salmon pink colour.

This is really a test to see if this post actually shows up....the one I did yesterday didn't show up at all....if they don't show up, there's not much point having a Blog. Anyway the crocheted rug pictured I started as a long term project last winter & resurrected it yesterday.....hope to finish this one soon!

Strawberry Crumble

Using the Raspberry Crumble recipe from the most recent issue of Vignette, I made this Strawberry Crumble. This recipe allows you to use any berries that you have on hand. The pic was taken quite hastily, as the family were hovering...LOL!! Served with cream it is a yummy sweet that I'll be making again.

Colourful Friday - Copper

I'm playing Colourful Friday again this week with Robyn over at Daisy Quilts.

This week our colour focus is copper....hmmm....a bit tricky that one, but it's amazing what you can find when you least expect it.  I was hunting through the stash this morning (looking for something else) and came across this panel of fabric....pulled it out straight away to picture as it has a lot of country copper in it (still haven't found the fabric I was looking for...LOL!!).

I was going to go into Man Land, (the shed) & take some pics of copper in cable but decided fabric was more the better option....LOL!!

Vintage Cabinet

This is Laddie....she (I think) is guarding my recent purchase.....a Lloyd Loom Cabinet....around a 1920's piece I believe. I envisaged this in my sewing room...but alas, lack of space saw it go to Miss J's bedroom...momentarily!

Pillowcase Dress

Armed with some measurements as a guide from the internet I made Miss 11 this Pillowcase Dress. Originally made for smaller children out of a pillowcase, these instructions allow you to make for an older child, which is really handy when you're buying anything from a girls 16 to a ladies 12!

Colourful Friday

It's Colourful 'Spotty Dotty' Friday...hosted by Robyn @ Daisy Quilts.

These are a couple of my favourite china pieces.....they live in my craft room as decorative pieces. They remind me of patchwork.

Some spotty dots on February Hearts.

Some raised textured dots on Lady Crinoline.

Lastly some spots on my vintage cushion. Will be around the traps soon to see if you've all gone dotty....or is it just me with the lateness of the hour...LOL.
